Why Not AI and Touched by Grace have announced a time-limited demo for their upcoming horror visual novel RPG HPL: Nyarlathotep Rising. While there’s still no release date (and the fact that we’ll probably see a next-gen version, as well), Diablo IV is in development for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. “We believe that the end game progression system is where the difficult to master component will come in, and should meet the expectations of the most hardcore Diablo players out there.” While the team admits that it’s currently a work-in-progress, the system is intended to provide more depth and replayability than what Paragon offered in Diablo III. Lastly, the update touched on the End Game system, which was an issue with Diablo III until Blizzard addressed it with the Paragon system. The Druid class is the next one that the team is focusing on, which will be revealed in subsequent updates. If you place a skill in the Enchantment slot, you can no longer use it as an active skill, but your character instead gains a secondary bonus power. Sorceress skills can be placed into two locations: an active skill slot and an Enchantment slot. With every class now having its own unique class mechanics, the team decided that much like the Barbarian and its unique Arsenal System, the Sorceress will have a unique Enchantment System. Therefore, the Skill Tree will have a good mix of all types of different choices for players to make.” These effects are not specific to particular skills. “The Passive part of this system is where you will find more general upgrades to your character. Only this time, you now have passive skills that are unlocked on branches as you spend points, allowing you to spend specific passive points to enhance abilities. As is the norm for Diablo games, you spend skill points every time you level up, unlocking new branches in the Skill Tree. This time, the team’s game director, Luis Barriga, delves into a look at the game’s Skills and Talents, Sorceress Enchantment System, and End Game Progression System.Īs far as the Skills and Talents go, the team has spent time expanding the system, dividing up the Skills into active and passive skills. Blizzard updated Diablo IV fans again on the workings of the action RPG in another quarterly update.
